There's a new threat to our oak trees in LA County, and we need your help letting people know!Are you a community educator, networker, or advocate? The Goldspotted Oak Borer (GSOB) has recently been found in LA County and is infesting and killing our oak trees. We need to be on the lookout and take action to limit GSOB's spread. The Los Angeles County Chief Sustainability Office is collaborating with several other LA County departments including Agricultural Commissioner/ Weights and Measures, Fire, Parks and Recreation, and Regional Planning, to educate community leaders and stewards, environmental educators, docents, and other advocates on how to share information with your communities about how we can identify and stop the spread of GSOB. Come learn about what we can do and get resources to share with your community. This training will be a hands-on workshop about the importance of oaks in our communities, how GSOB harms our oaks, and what we can do to help manage the spread of this pest. We will also provide resources and communication tools you can use to educate your community about GSOB and what you and your community can do. We hope you're able to join us!
